Dog Body Language: How to Speak Dog

Just like us, your new puppy or dog sometimes feels happy, scared, tense or angry. Your puppy cannot express how he’s feeling to you with words. He’s trying his best to communicate to you, but he doesn’t speak your language.

I know how much you want to understand and help your dog with navigating and coping in our big modern world. This dog body language video will help you do exactly that through helping you learn dog language.

Why is it important to learn dog body language?

When you bring a new puppy or rescue dog into your family you’ll want to understand your furry friends emotional state in varying situations. Knowing clearly when your dog is afraid, frustrated, angry or upset, you’ll be able to be there for your pup and guide him in a loving way.

Most of us dog lovers are living social lifestyles in the 21st Century with our dogs. This has added wonderful opportunities for enrichment and fun for both people and dogs. Social dogs need us to be aware of how they’re coping more than ever before. We all have things that scare or upset us and so do dogs. Just like you would want to be there and support anyone you love, you can do the very same for your puppy or dog.

Bark, growl, snarl and snap…

I get calls frequently from clients stating their dog growled, snapped or displayed aggression at a man, woman or child. Often the next words they share is it came out of nowhere. Dogs don’t behave aggressively for no reason at all. Something is scaring or upsetting to your dog. As we explore, my clients learn quickly these displays are situation specific.

When you know your dogs body language you’ll be able to see this early and more clearly. Allowing you to work with your dog, helping him to overcome those fears or frustrations.

Dogs are social animals. They love the company of friends whether two legged or four. Sometimes their personal fears or frustrations get in the way. Sound familiar? It’s not so different from us. What is different from us is they don’t communicate this through words. Fortunately, it’s all there for us to see, we just need a little learning to understand dog language.

Stress-free learning

Our dogs are living social lives among men, women, children and other animals. If we want them to be sociable it’s important we teach them without stressing them out. I’ve learned many tips and tricks for keeping both humans and dog’s happy living a social life and look forward to sharing more of them with you.

If you enjoyed this video and found it helpful, share it with your dog loving friends. It takes a village; all of us working together make our communities better for people and dogs.
