Meet The Team
FOUNDER AND DOG LIFE COACH
Perhaps the biggest dog behavior geek of them all, Jody has decades of experience working with dogs and specializes in off-leash play and training. She studied directly underneath famed behaviorist Jean Donaldson and graduated from the dog trainers’ version of Harvard: the Academy for Dog Trainers. Prior to founding Go Anywhere Dog, Jody helped to teach and heal thousands of rescue dogs at Safe Hands Rescue. She’s always been a champion for combining science-backed methodology with the latest technology, opening her own state-of-the-art dog daycare and serving as the dog behavior consultant for PetChatz video chat products.
Today you’ll find her teaching group classes or out on private sessions, showing puppies and their humans how to work together as a team to live their best lives ever. You’re always in great hands when you’ve got Jody’s experience, education, and passion backing you up.
DOG LIFE COACH
Emily has always loved animals. We know every trainer bio says that, but really… She belts out Disney songs for the dogs when she thinks nobody’s listening. Her passion for animals comes naturally, and nobody understands more than Emily that a deep emotional connection is the best foundation for a happy, well-behaved dog. Or horse. Or cat. (Emily doesn’t discriminate.) She began training for big-box pet stores in her teens before working her way into a decade-long tenure as the general manager for a doggy daycare.
Throughout her career, she’s studied animal social interactions, off-leash dog play, and behavior modification. She’s currently studying with Jean Donaldson at the Academy for Dog Trainers to earn her Certificate for Training and Counseling.
Her infectious enthusiasm and pure love for her job shine in the classroom, where she entertains clients with an endless supply of one-liners and personal anecdotes. On private sessions, she’s not afraid to get silly and do whatever it takes to make a scaredy-pup feel comfortable. We love her to bits, and we know your pup will too.
DOG LIFE COACH
Ashley joined the team in 2021 and is our newest Dog Life Coach, but she’s no greenhorn! Ashley holds a bachelor’s degree in zoology and has years of experience fostering rescues, volunteering at shelters, and working in dog daycare and boarding. She originally began studying dog body language and behavior modification to better manage the dogs in her off-leash group play sessions. She saw firsthand that appropriate early learning and secure emotional attachments were essential to puppies. Since then, she’s been hooked on helping your cute furry babies and became our resident puppy trainer in chief. Who better to give your pups a mental and physical work out than a (literal) former body builder? She knows how to bang out reps, whether she’s in the gym or working with your puppy!
You’ll meet Ashley if you sign up for private sessions or if you’re lucky enough to land in one of her classes. Chihuahua parents beware: She may just try to steal your cute tiny baby to add to her pack of chihuahuas. at home.
ADMIN EXTRAORDINAIRE
Jeannie is our behind-the-scenes make it happen woman. Since retiring from running group classes, she’s moved on to answering phone calls, scheduling classes, providing customer support, preparing our tuna fudge from scratch, and… well… all of the day to day things that keep GAD running! Her passion for everything dog combined with her hospitality background make her the perfect person to keep operations running smoothly. Since 2006, she’s dedicated herself to helping people and their dogs live amazing lives together. She has fostered dogs, adopted dogs, volunteered with rescue, and even co-founded a doggy daycare.
Although she doesn’t teach classes anymore, some days she just can’t stay away. Don’t be surprised when she shows up and blissfully solicits puppy cuddles from the fluffy babies in class.
We know we aren’t the puppy school for everyone. Some people are looking to have a perfect robot-dog who obeys all commands – even at the expense of their social and emotional wellbeing. That ain’t us.
Our goal will always be a well-rounded, happy dog who
enjoys obedience work and still gets to have fun being a dog.
